Planning Commission Meeting Minutes Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at 7:00 PM 27400 Southfield Road, Lathrup Village, Michigan 48076 1. Call to order Meeting called to order @ 7:02 PM by Chairman Mark Piotrowski Pledge of Allegiance All present joined in the Pledge of Allegiance 2. Roll Call Commissioners Present: Mark Piotrowski, Chair Jason Hammond, Vice Chair Les Stansbery, Secretary Wilbert Fobbs III Bruce Kantor Terrence Hicks Staff Present: Susie Stec, Community and Economic Development Manager, Jill Bahm, Giffels Webster Engineering, Scott Baker City Attorney attended the meeting remotely 3. Approval of Agenda Commissioner Kantor moved to approve the agenda. Motion seconded by Vice Chair Hammond. Motion carried. 4. Approval of Meeting Minutes A. PC Minutes - February 15, 2022 27400 Southfield Rd | Southfield, MI 48076 | 248.557.2600 | www.lathrupvillage.org  Motion by Commissioner Kantor to approve the February 15, 2022 meeting minutes. Motion seconded by Vice Chair Hammond. Motion carried. 4. Public Comment Bo Tamarelli – Water meter replacement 5. Old Business and Tabled Items None 7. New Business A. Amended Site Plan Review - 26727 Southfield Road Tarak Gayar of Advanced Communications is requesting an amendment to the site plan by replacing the footing in the screen wall with natural landscaping material of the same height. Also moving the sign away from the driveway, therefore increasing visibility. Jill Bahm added that the landscaping alternative is not permitted by ordinance at this time so this issue will need ZBA approval in addition to the encroachment into the right of way will need approval from Council. It was suggested that the application use stacked brick paver to create a wall. The pavers would not require footing and the wall would still meet the requirements of the ordinance. The Commission postponed to allow the applicant the opportunity to identify the material, color, the height and a 3-dimensional view of the structure. Commissioner Hammond motioned to postpone the action to allow the applicant to present new materials. Motion seconded by Commissioner Kantor Motion carried. B. 2022 Capital Improvement Plan draft The City’s six-year plan for capital expenditures, the first year becomes the operating budget for City Council. Staff has been working on completing the draft plan. Commission Hammond motioned to set a Public Hearing for review of the Capital Improvement Plan on April 19, 2022. Motion seconded by Commissioner Kantor. Motion carried. 8.
