POLICY AGENDA City of Laurel City Council Special Call Meeting Minutes November 10, 2020 A. ID 20-4583 Consider adopting a Resolution authorizing and directing the issuance of general obligation bonds, series 2020, of the City of Laurel, Mississippi, in the principal amount of not to exceed twelve million eight hundred fifty thousand dollars ($12,850,000) to raise money to provide funds for the current refunding of (A) all or a portion of outstanding maturities of the City’s $10,000,000 General Obligation Bonds, Series 2015, dated December 10, 2015 and (B) all or a portion of outstanding maturities of the City’s $4,400,000 General Obligation Bonds, Series 2016, dated April 14, 2016; and paying for the costs of such borrowing. ID 20-4584 Consider adopting a Resolution of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Laurel, Mississippi (The “City”) authorizing and approving the issuance and sale of not to exceed twelve million eight hundred fifty thousand dollars ($12,850,000) General Obligation Bonds, Series 2020 (“The Bonds”) to raise money to provide funds for the optional redemption and current refunding of (A) all or a portion of outstanding maturities of the City’s $10,000,000 General Obligation Bonds, Series 2015, dated December 10, 2015 (the “2015 Bonds”) and (B) all or a portion of outstanding maturities of the City’s $4,400,000 General Obligation Bonds, Series 2016, dated April 14, 2016 (the “2016 Bonds”); approving the form of and execution of a bond purchase agreement for the sale of the bonds; approving the form of, execution and distribution of an preliminary official statement and official statement pertaining to the bonds and the sale thereof; authorizing the Mayor or City Clerk of the city to provide a written notification to the respective paying agents for the 2015 bonds and the 2016 bonds of the current refunding of all or a portion of the outstanding maturities of the 2015 bonds and the 2016 bonds with the proceeds of the bonds; and for related purposes.
