COMMON COUNCIL April 6, 2020 4:30 P.M. The City of Lawrenceburg Common Council meeting was called to order by Mayor Kelly Mollaun, Clerk-Treasurer Mark Fette read roll call. Present were Board members Thomas Rowlett Sr. (BY PHONE), Brett Bondurant (BY PHONE), Lennie Fryman and Tony Abbott, City Attorney Del Weldon, and Clerk-Treasurer Mark Fette. Absent was Justin Noppert. ANNOUNCEMENTS Board Reports: Streets, Alleys, and Curbs: Tony Abbott: Councilpersons Tony Abbott and Lennie Fryman reported that some speed bumps had been put out on the alley between St. Clair and Arch and one on Bellaire Drive and Village Dr. Finance: Brett Bondurant: Councilperson Brett Bondurant reported that there were no issues. Parks and Playgrounds: Justin Noppert: No report. Fire: Thomas Rowlett Sr.: Councilperson Thomas Rowlett advised that Chief Johnnie Tremain had emailed a report to all of Council. Mayor Mollaun advised that they are stressing that people stay home and practice social distancing. He advised that for the next week and a half it would be vital. Mayor Mollaun thanked Council for stepping up and helping with Utility bills and the Small Business Subsidy fund that was created. ADMINISTRATIVE Motion to approve minutes from the 3/9/2020 meeting. Motion: Lennie Fryman Second: Tony Abbott Motion carried. Motion to approve minutes from the 3/16/2020 meeting. Motion: Lennie Fryman Second: Tony Abbott Motion carried. Motion to approve minutes from 3/19/2020 meeting. Motion: Lennie Fryman Second: Tony Abbott Motion carried. Motion to approve minutes from 3/27/2020 meeting. Motion: Tony Abbott Second: Lennie Fryman Motion carried. NEW BUSINESS 1. Mayor Kelly Mollaun 2021 Calendar Bid Opening Motion to table. Motion: Tony Abbott Second: Lennie Fryman Motion carried. 2. Del Weldon New Utility Ordinance City Attorney Del Weldon advised that this was presented and passed at the Utility Service Board meeting. He advised that this was placed online for viewing. He stated that this does not deal with rates and only covers management and operations. City Attorney Del Weldon advised that this would repeal and replace, in its entirety, two current codes. A motion was made to pass Ordinance 6-2020 on first reading of a unanimous Board vote. Motion: Tony Abbott Second: Lennie Fryman Motion carried. 3. Del Weldon Law Firm Engagement City Attorney Del Weldon asked for permission to obtain an attorney in Houston Texas to take on the Rodeo Time Promotion lawsuit. City Attorney Del Weldon spoke concerning the litigation and noted that they must hire an attorney in Houston since the lawsuit was filed in Texas. A motion was made to allow City Attorney Del Weldon to move forward with hiring a law firm in Texas to handle the Rodeo Time Promotions lawsuit. Motion: Tony Abbott Second: Lennie Fryman Motion carried. OLD BUSINESS No Old Business. Advanced claims for approval. No advanced claims. A motion to pay all bills and claims.
