COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG August 27, 2015 The Board of Mayor and Council met in regular session. The following members were present: Council Member Fox, Mayor Keith Durham, Council Member Sevier, Council Member Williams and Council Member Moore. With a quorum present the meeting was called to order. The meeting opened with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion to approve the minutes of the August 13, 2015 Council Meeting was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. Mayor Durham commented on how well everything went during the Babe Ruth 15 Year Old World Series and that is is a good time to live in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. Fire Chief Jay Moore gave a report on the annual 9-11 Service and other items of interest to his department. ORDINANCE(S) ORDINANCE NO. 1159 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.1116 ENTITLED BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS OF REVENUE AND EXPENDITURES FOR THE 2014-2015 FISCAL YEAR FOR THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE. Motion to approve on second and final reading was made by Council Member Sevier, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. ORDINANCE NO. 1160 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE 886, 941, 1034 AND 1038 AND TO AMEND TITLE 17, CHAPTERS (1) AND (2) OF THE LAWRENCEBURG MUNICIPAL CODE ENTITLED "REFUSE AND TRASH DISPOSAL” AS INDICATED BELOW INCLUDING – SERVICE FEES FOR COLLECTION AND REMOVAL OF REFUSE, TRASH, GARBAGE AND OTHER MATERIALS. Motion to approve on second and final reading was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Fox. Motion passed unanimously. A Public Hearing was opened for comments on Ordinance 1161, with no one wishing to comment the Public Hearing closed. ORDINANCE NO. 1161 AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH THE ANNUAL BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2015-2016 Motion to approve on second and final reading was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Fox. Motion passed unanimously. ORDINANCE NO. 1162 AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TO REGULATE AND PROHIBIT THE PARKING OF MOTOR VEHICLES AND OTHER VEHICLES ON EITHER SIDE OF PARRISH STREET FROM LAFAYETTE AVENUE FOR 800 FEET EAST ON PARRISH TO THE BOTTOM OF THE HILL – First Reading Motion to approve on first reading was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Fox. Motion passed unanimously. RESOLUTION(S) 2015-27-8A A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TO ACCEPT PROPERTY DONATED BY THE LAWRENCE COUNTY GOVERNMENT LOCATED ON THE PUBLIC SQUARE AS APPROVED BY COUNTY RESOLUTION NUMBER 2015072806A Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. 2015-27-8B A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO ENTER INTO A GRANT CONTRACT WITH THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, DEPARTMENT OF MILITARY, TENNESSEE EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY TRACKING NUMBER 34101-06716 FOR THE PRESIDENTS DAY ICE STORM Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. 2015-27-8C A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO DECLARE CERTAIN PROPERTY IN THE ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT AS SURPLUS TO BE SOLD AT AUCTION ON THE WEB Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. Attorney Betz thanked the City of Lawrenceburg for their assistance on the wonderful event of the Babe Ruth World Series. With no further business to come before the board motion was made by Council Member Moore to adjourn, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned.
