COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG September 22, 2016 The Board of Mayor and Council met in regular session. The following members were present: Council Member Fox, Mayor Keith Durham, Council Member Sevier, Council Member Williams, and Council Member Moore. With a quorum present the meeting was called to order. The meeting opened with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion to approve the minutes of the September 8, 2016 Council Meeting was made by Council Member Sevier second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. Mayor Durham announced the closing of city offices on October 10 in observance of Columbus Day; and the retirement of Beth Campbell, Director of the Parks and Recreation Department. City Administrator, Chris Shaffer announced to the Council he and April Judkins met with the Farmers Market group about the cancellation of their lease. He indicated that he and T.R. Williams, Vic Pusser, Doug Edwards, Judy Hartsfield met with the hospital personnel about forming a health clinic. We are awaiting further information before presenting the proposal to you. He also asked Judy Hartsfield to elaborate on the City Health Fair. ORDINANCE NO. 1182 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.1179 ENTITLED BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS OF REVENUE AND EXPENDITURES FOR THE 2016-2017 FISCAL YEAR FOR THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE CODES DEPARTMENT. First Reading Motion to approve on first reading was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Fox. Motion passed unanimously ORDINANCE NO. 1183 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.1179 ENTITLED BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS OF REVENUE AND EXPENDITURES FOR THE 2016-2017 FISCAL YEAR FOR THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE FIRE DEPARTMENT. First Reading Motion to approve on first reading was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council Member Moore. Motion passed unanimously. RESOLUTION(S) A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE TML RISK MANAGEMENT POOL 2016-2017 “DRIVER SAFETY” GRANT PROGRAM. Motion to approve was made by Council Member Sevier, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO AUTHORIZE THE PURCHASE OF A USED VEHICLE FROM MISSOURI HIGHWAY PATROL FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO BE PAID THROUGH THE DRUG FUND. Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Fox. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO DECLARE CERTAIN PROPERTY IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AS SURPLUS TO BE SOLD AT AUCTION ON THE WEB. Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Fox. Motion passed unanimously. Council Member Fox stated that our Citizen of the Year, Cheri Plant has created a great line-up for the Crockett Theater Series and encourage everyone to purchase season tickets for the events. Mayor Durham announced he had a Proclamation on Michael Jeter and he wants to present it in front of the building on the square. He asked everyone to go upstairs after the adjournment. With no further business to come before the board motion to adjourn was made by Council Member Moore with a second by Council Member Sevier. Meeting adjourned. Meeting adjourned.
