COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG August 12, 2021 The Board of Mayor and Council met in regular session. Meeting was also held electronically. The following members were present: Council Member Sevier, Council Member Williams, Mayor Lay, and Council Member Moore. Council Member Fox via phone. With a quorum present the meeting was called to order. The meeting opened with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion to approve the minutes of the July 22, 2021 Council Meeting was made by Council Member Moore with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. Bonnie Walker with SCTDD gave a presentation on AAAD/SNAP Program for food as well as Emergency Home Repair and many other programs offered to citizens above 60 years of age or handicapped. LUS Financials for June 2021 were accepted. ORDINANCE(S) ORDINANCE NUMBER 1318 AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TO REGULATE AND PROHIBIT THE PARKING OF MOTOR VEHICLES ON WEST TAYLOR STREET FROM THE METAL GATE WESTWARD WHERE INDICATED BY SIGNS – First Reading Motion to approve on first reading was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. ORDINANCE NO. 1319 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.1293 ENTITLED BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS OF REVENUE AND EXPENDITURES FOR THE 2020-2021 FISCAL YEAR FOR THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE GENERAL FUND. – First Reading Motion to approve on first reading was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. RESOLUTION(S) A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO CLOSE A PORTION OF GREGG STREET Motion to approve was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF A KUBOTA SVl97- HFC (BOBCAT) AND CERTAIN ATTACHMENTS THROUGH BROWN EQUIPMENT COMPANY IN LORETTO, TENNESSEE USING SOURCEWELL CONTRACT QUOTE FOR USE BY THE LAWRENCEBURG PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT. Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TO ACCEPT THE ENGAGEMENT LETTER FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH BRADLEY, ARANT, BOULT, CUMMINGS LLP FOR GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS LEGAL SERVICES Motion to approve was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TO ACCEPT THE BID FROM SUMMERTOWN METALS LLC AND ENTER INTO A CONTRACT TO BUILD THE LAWRENCE COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL MULTI- PURPOSE FACILITY Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE “SAFETY PARTNERS” LOSS CONTROL MATCHING GRANT PROGRAM THROUGH PUBLIC ENTITY PARTNERS Motion to approve was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. Fire Chief, Jay Moore, explained a new program they are starting; it is a Citizens Fire Academy. This is for adults to help the citizens know what we do and to use as a recruitment tool for the City. With no further business to come before the board motion to adjourn was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned.
