COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG December 14, 2023 The Board of Mayor and Council met in regular session. The following members were present: Mayor Lay, Council Member Story, Council Member Moore and Council Member Sevier. Council Member Williams was absent With a quorum present Mayor called the meeting to order. The meeting opened with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion to approve the November 30, 2023 and minutes was made by Council Member Sevier, with a second by Council Member Story. Motion passed. There were no request by the public to speak on any agenda item. Participants (49) in the Leadership Training Program provided by the City Administrator, Dick McKinley were recognized for their participation and interest in educating themselves for leadership. City Council offered their congratulations and praise for their efforts. New employees were also introduced. Hylie Hutchends, Raveen Mase and Kirkland Surratt in the Police Department, April Gray in the Sanitation Department and David Short in the Fire Department, Camden Bosheers and Blain Cheatwood in the Parks and Recreation Department. Jay Moore, Fire Chief, stated that the Fire Department is cautiously lifting the Burn Ban, However, you still need a permit to burn. Gary Hyde, Sanitation Department informed the Council that we have demolished our 32nd site, this is the most massive clean-up I have ever seen in my 43 years of service to the city. LUS Financials for October, 2023 were accepted. ORDINANCE NO.1382 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE BUDGET TO REFLECT THE SALARY FOR NEW POSITION IN THE PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT First Reading Motion to approve on first reading was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Story. Motion passed unanimously. ORDINANCE 1383 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE BUDGET TO REFLECT THE SALARY FOR NEW POSITION IN THE PUBLIC RELATIONS DEPARTMENT First Reading Motion to approve on first reading was made by Council Member Sevier, with a second by Council Member Story. Motion passed unanimously. RESOLUTION(S) A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TO CREATE A POSITION IN THE PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TO CREATE A POSITION IN THE PUBLIC RELATIONS DEPARTMENT Motion to approve was made by Council Member Story, with a second by Council Member Moore. Motion passed unanimously. Meeting ended with Merry Christmas wishes from the Board.
