DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY MINUTES Monday, July 10, 2023 Council Assembly Room 5:00 PM 70 S. Clayton St, GA 30046 Call to Order Chairman Merritt called the meeting to order at 5:01 pm after recognizing a quorum. June 2023 Treasurer’s Report Board Member Fellows, Treasurer presented the June 2023 Treasurer's Report to the Board. She noted that the beginning date for each of the financial accounts stated 04/01/23, but they should be listed as 05/01/23 instead. Motion to accept the June 2023 Treasurer's Report with the changes to the dates at the beginning of each of the accounts be changed from 04/01/23 to 05/01/23 made by Board Member Merritt, Seconded by Board Member Adams. Voting Yea: Board Member Jones, Board Member Johnson, Board Member Fellows, Board Member Adams, Board Member Higginbotham, Board Member Merritt 2. July 2023 Treasurer’s Report Board Member Fellows, Treasurer presented the July 2023 Treasurer's Report to the Board. North DTL Study Chairman Merritt reviewed North Downtown Lawrenceville Zoning Analysis Memo. There will be a workshop held on Wednesday, July 12th at 6:30 pm in the Council Chambers at which time more details will be reviewed. That event will be hosted by the Planning and Development Department. This analysis assists with setting guidelines, shows preferred residential area with commercial along the busier streets. Mainstreet Business Jasmine Billings our Mainstreet Manager was absent from the meeting, but she sent her update to the Board before the meeting by email. Façade Grant  6 out of the 10 approved projects were completed in the last year o Fishery Fitness is not updating their sign o Former Cornerstone Café has not updated its space o Nancy’s Candy is not updating their awning o Soje Emporium is not updating their space o Perry Street Chophouse has completed their project of repainting their façade o Crogan Street Ventures has completed their remodeling project o D’Floridian has completed their project which entailed a side patio cover/roof and painting the existing brick o Paint & Party completed the repainting of their façade o CAS Architecture completed their installation of a new awning and façade upgrades o Scrumdiddlyumptious completed their façade upgrades Events  As you may be aware there was an equipment malfunction that occurred during the Prelude to the 4th fireworks. We are grateful there were no injuries sustained from the mishap and have currently scheduled a meeting with the company to get more in-depth information about what happened, along with discussing remedies whether financial or rescheduling. More details to follow.  We have a full calendar – a few of the highlights are below: o July 27th Free Public Art at the Train Depot from 5 pm – 10 pm o August 1st LPD National Night Out at the Lawrenceville Lawn from 6 pm – 8:30 pm o August 12 th Cops & Cones Motorcycle Rodeo at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds from 10 am – 6 pm Georgia Downtown Conference The 2023 Georgia Downtown Conference will be held on August 21-24 in Canton, Georgia. The cost is $375 per person if registered by August 1st. Motion to allow up to two Downtown Development Authority Board Members to attend the 2023 Georgia Downtown Development Conference made by Board Member Merritt, Seconded by Board Member Higginbotham.
