DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY SPECIAL CALL MINUTES Monday, August 28, 2023 Council Assembly Room 5:00 PM 70 S. Clayton St, GA 30046 Call to Order Chairman Merritt called the meeting to order at 5:03 pm after recognizing a quorum. PRESENT Board Member Victoria Jones Board Member Bruce Johnson Board Member Joanie Perry Ward Board Member Katrina Fellows Board Member Lee Merritt ABSENT Board Member Chris Adams Board Member Jeremy Higginbotham Approval of Agenda Motion to add Other Business to the agenda made by Board Member Merritt, Seconded by Board Member Johnson Voting Yea: Board Member Johnson, Board Member Perry Ward, Board Member Fellows, Board Member Merritt Motion to approve the agenda with the approved changes made by Board Member Merritt, Seconded by Board Member Fellows. Voting Yea: Board Member Johnson, Board Member Perry Ward, Board Member Fellows, Board Member Merritt Board Member Jones arrived at 5:07 pm and was present for the remainder of the meetings and participated in the votes. Other Business 1) Precision Planning has submitted a proposal to complete an exhibit to the survey for the College Corridor, now renamed Grizzly Parkway. The survey would include a concept plan, right of way that would be necessary if the stormwater management were moved toward the back of new development and away from the road, and final plats. The cost of the survey is $1797.86. This would assist with future developments and plans along this corridor. Motion to approve the proposal from Precision Planning for them to create a survey of Grizzly Parkway for $1,797.86 and up to a total of $2,000 if needed for other items regarding the survey made by Board Member Fellows, Seconded by Board Member Perry Ward. Voting Yea: Board Member Jones, Board Member Johnson, Board Member Perry Ward, Board Member Fellows, Board Member Merritt 2) There is interest in the Train Depot property. We are hoping for a restaurant at the Depot, but currently a dance instructor is interested in holding ballroom dance classes there twice a week. The thought is to allow him to rent the space for six months to see how it goes. He has a marketing firm that will assist with spreading the word about his dance classes. Motion to rent the Depot to Robert Tolentino for ballroom dance classes for six months made by Board Member Merritt, Seconded by Board Member Fellows.
