FINANCIAL REVIEW CITIZEN COMMITTEE MINUTES Thursday, March 17, 2022 City Hall 3rd Floor Conference Room 6:00 PM 70 S. Clayton St, GA 30046 Entrance to City Hall for all City meetings is through the lower level doors accessible from Church Street Call to Order Discussion Items 1. City Departments & FY23 Operating Budget Request Barry Mock, Assistant City Manager presented department information for the departments he manages: Damage Prevention, Electric, Fleet, Natural Gas, Sanitation & Streets. Keith Lee, Finance Director presented high-level FY23 Operating budget information. Committee participated in group discussion in which the following suggestions and/or recommendations for the City were collected: Special Events: Host Health Fairs, Lawrenceville Day/Fest, & events in collaboration with area schools Increase outreach by increasing Twitter presence, continue/increase mailers, radio ads, and utilize downtown kiosks Support businesses by bringing back the Lawrenceville Trade Association, and also host a Towne Hall for Lawrenceville Businesses Police: Bring back Neighborhood Watch program, increase patrol in neighborhoods, and school outreach.  Streets: Offer handicap parking for LAC, quality control & follow-up inspection of street paving performed by contractors, increase sidewalk maintenance and debris pickup outside of DTL. Code Enforcement: more enforcement presence in the outskirts of the City. Would also like more stern enforcement of ordinances. Adjournment
