HERITAGE TRAIL MEDALLION COMMISSION MINUTES Monday, March 23, 2026 Third Floor GwMA Conference Room 4:30 PM 70 S. Clayton St, GA 30046 Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 4:31 PM, recognizing a quorum. Approval of Prior Meeting Minutes 1. Approval of Prior Meeting Minutes Motion to approve the prior meeting minutes from August 4, 2025 made by Commission Member Lindsey, Seconded by Commission Member Price. Voting Abstaining: Commission Member Brack (arrived at 4:37 pm) General Discussion 2. 2026 Heritage Trail Medallion Locations Eranildo Lustosa, City Engineer, presented two locations chosen for installation of Heritage Trail Medallions in 2027. He provided the process of choosing the locations. Elliott Brack arrived at 4:37 PM. The two locations have been marked. 3. 2026 Heritage Trail Medallion Commission Meeting Schedule and Times The members briefly discussed the proposed dates for 2026, and added one additional meeting date in case it was needed to finalize recipients. The group also discussed the meeting time and agreed to move the start time to 4:00 PM. Motion to approve the amended meeting schedule and move the meeting time to 4:00 - 5:00 PM was made by Commission Member Price, Seconded by Commission Member Lindsey. Voting Yea: Commission Member Brack, Commission Member James, Commission Member Price, Commission Member Abney, Commission Member Lindsey 4. Review Nomination Form and Timeframe for Submissions  No changes have been made to the forms from last year. The process will remain the same as well. The application will be reactivated online one week from today, March 30th. This will be on the city's home page, social media and a press release will be put out. Printed copies will also be available for people who walk into City Hall and those who do not have access online. A request was made to make the Candidate Information line a name or an organization. Motion to update the application to reflect candidate information as an individual or organization was made by Commission Member Lindsey, Seconded by Commission Member James. Voting Yea: Commission Member Brack, Commission Member James, Commission Member Price, Commission Member Abney, Commission Member Lindsey 5. Review Amended Bylaws The amended Bylaws were presented with the changes previously requested. Motion to approve the amended Bylaws was made by Commission Member Price, Seconded by Commission Member Brack. Voting Yea: Commission Member Brack, Commission Member James, Commission Member Price, Commission Member Abney, Commission Member Lindsey Officer Elections 6. 2026 Officer Elections Officer Elections agenda item will be moved after Item 6 on the agenda to allow additional members to arrive. Motion to move Officer Elections after Item 6 on the agenda was made by Melissa Hardegree, Seconded by Commission Member James. Voting Yea: Commission Member James, Commission Member Price, Commission Member Abney, Commission Member Lindsey Voting Abstaining: Commission Member Brack (arrived at 4:37 pm) After approving the amended Bylaws, the Commission members cast their votes for Chair and Vice Chair. Motion to approve Dawnya Lindsey as the 2026 Commission Chair and Nancy "Patsy" Price as the 2026 Commission Vice chair was made by Commission Member James, Seconded by Commission Member Abney. Voting Yea: Commission Member Brack, Commission Member James, Commission Member Price, Commission Member Abney, Commission Member Lindsey Other Business April 29, 2026 has been chosen for the dedication ceremonies for Loving Aid Society and Grover Herman Tanner medallions. The Loving Aid Society's dedication will take place at 10:00 am, and Grover Herman Tanner's dedication will take place at 11:00 am. Information will be e-mailed to members with additional information. In addition, photos will be taken of the honorees at the medallions to be framed and presented at a later date. A rain date has been chosen. Citizen Comments Citizen Comments will be limited to two (2) minutes per person. Heritage Trail Commission members will not respond to comments. There were no Citizen Comments. Final Adjournment Motion to adjourn was made by Commission Member Price, Seconded by Commission Member Abney.
