Meeting was called to order at 6:18 p.m.
AGENDA:
Jasmine provided a handout with June/July statistics and the shelter updates. A copy of the handout will
be included in the meeting minutes. The committee reviewed and discussed most sections of the
handout. Susanne recommended going forward that statistical information is provided to the
committee beforehand so that committee members can review at their own pace prior to meetings.
Discussion held on:
Volunteer updates – Jasmine shared that volunteer training will now be focused on individual
canine/feline/general help topics versus all volunteers being required to complete all training topics.
Community Cat/TNR Program – Jasmine shared that Chief of Staff, Drey Hicks, will host a representative
from American Pets Alive for a 30-day assessment of the program. She invited committee members to
share input as to what they believe should be included in the stray intake form as it relates to feline TNR
candidate screening criteria.
Animals Adopted Unsterilized – Jasmine shared that getting animals quickly into homes is the goal.
Committee questioned how the shelter staff follows up; Jasmine shared that there is reporting utilized
to follow up with adopters needing to bring their pet(s) in for sterilization. Adopters who fail to respond
to attempts at communication are sent a formal letter informing they are in violation of their adoption
contract.
