MINUTES FINANCE COMMITTEE NOVEMBER 16, 2020 The meeting of the Finance Committee was called to order by Gabe Allen on November 16, 2020 at 4:05 p.m. by telephone or video conference in order to advance the public health goal of limiting face-to-face meetings (also called “social distancing”) to slow the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Present at the meeting were Gabe Allen, Hank Dugie, Paul Maaz, Zak Kone, Tracy Jacobs, Kristine Polian, Michelle Villarreal, Brandi Hamilton, Candace Brown, Deborah Jordan, Robin Cochran, and Ann Williams. Approval of minutes from the September 21, 2020 Meeting Paul Maaz made a motion to waive the reading of the minutes and to approve the minutes as presented. The motion was seconded. The motion passed, all-in-favor. Citizen Comments Peggy Zahler from 1802 Rampart, League City, TX 77573 wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and she stated that she is looking forward to the work the new City Auditor will do. Introduction to New Staff Members Kristine Polian introduced the new City Auditor, Candace Brown. Candace gave an overview of her Biography. Kristine also introduced Brandi Hamilton, Assistant Controller. Review Investment Report for the Quarter Ended June 30, 2020 Scott Gruber from Meeder presented the report. Discussion ensued Overview of 2020 General Obligation Bond Issuance Kristine gave an overview. A question was asked about what would be done with the savings. Kristine responded that she would provide information to them after getting with Joe Morrow via e-mail. City Auditor 90 Day Plan Candace Brown presented an outline of her 90-day plan. Some discussion ensued. Consider and Take Action to Excuse Absences No action taken. Staff Comments There were no staff comments.
