FINANCE COMMITTEE
MARCH 22, 2021
The meeting of the Finance Committee was called to order by Gabe Allen on March 22, 2021 at
4:05 p.m. by telephone or video conference in order to advance the public health goal of limiting
face-to-face meetings (also called “social distancing”) to slow the spread of the Coronavirus
(COVID-19).
Present at the meeting were Gabe Allen, Nick Long, Francis Fontana, Traci Jacobs, John Camp,
Peggy Zahler, Deanna Legge, Zak Kone, Kristine Polian, Michelle Villarreal, Brandi Hamilton,
Candace Brown, Edward Sellar, Scott Gruber, and Ann Williams.
Approval of minutes from the February 22, 2021 Meeting
Peggy Zahler made a motion to waive the reading of the minutes and to approve the minutes as
presented. Traci Jacobs seconded the motion. The motion passed, all-in-favor.
Citizen Comments
There were no citizen comments.
December 31, 2020 Investment Report
Scott Gruber, Meeder Investment Managers, presented the investment report. Some discussion
ensued.
Cash Processing and Handling Follow-up Audit – Preliminary Report
Candace Brown, Internal Auditor, presented the Cash Processing and Handling Follow-up Audit,
Preliminary Report. There were several questions from the committee and discussion ensued.
Consider and Take Action to Vote in Chair-Person and Vice-Chair-Person
Nick Long made a motion to vote Gabe Allen as Chair-Person by Acclamation. Motion passed
all-in-favor. Nick Long made a motion to appoint Peggy Zahler as Vice-Chair-Person. Gabe Allen
seconded the motion. The motion passed all-in-favor.
Consider and Take Action to Excuse Absences
There was no action
Staff Comments
The new members of the committee, Francis Fonatana and John Camp were introduced. Each
new member gave a brief introduction of themselves.
Committee Member Comments
Gabe Allen welcomed new committee members.
Adjournment
Peggy Zahler made a motion to adjourn. Gabe Allen seconded the motion. The meeting was
adjourned at approximately 5:06 p.m.
