ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL, January 7, 2008 Meeting called to order at 8:47 P.M. Attendance was taken by roll call vote; all members were present. The City Clerk opened nominations for Council President. Councillor Richard Marchand was nominated by Councillor Rosa; seconded by Councillor Salvatelli. Councillor Richard Marchand was elected Council President by roll call vote. Vt. 8 “yeas”, 1 “nay”; Councillor Freda opposed. Council President Richard Marchand took the chair. Council President Richard Marchand opened nominations for Vice-President. Councillor James Lanciani, Jr. was nominated by Councillor Tocci; seconded by Councillor Rowlands. Councillor James Lanciani, Jr. was elected Council Vice-President by roll call vote. Vt. 9 “yeas.” Council President Richard Marchand moved that Roberts Rules and the City Council Rules of Procedure be adopted with no changes. The Council rules were adopted.
