Councillor Chalifoux Zephir abstained due to a possible conflict of interest. 1st Reading Ordinance – Amend Chapter 22 of the Revised Ordinances entitled “Zoning” by amending the Leominster Zoning Map so that four parcels on Research Drive, identified on the Assessor’s Map as Parcels 503-3-1, 503-3-2, 503-3-3 and 503-3-4, are designated as located in the Multi-Use 1 (MU1) District. A hearing was set for May 8, 2017 at 7:00 P.M. 1st Reading Ordinance – Amend Chapter 22 of the Revised Ordinances entitled “Zoning” by inserting a new section, Article II, Section 22-16.12 entitled “Recreational Marijuana Establishment Moratorium”. (Legal Affairs – Petition 39-17) Page 3 REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL, APRIL 10, 2017, Continued Under New Business, Councillor Marchand requested an update on the Alumni field project, announced that Starburst was a little under $8,000 shy of meeting their goal so they are still looking for sponsors. The Johnny Appleseed Festival has been launched and they are still looking for vendors and sponsors. He said the Leominster landscape photography will be starting April school vacation and there is a dedication to Wayne Nickel on April 29, 2017 at the Leominster American Little League Field. Councilor Freda asked if a joint meeting had been set up with the School Committee. Councillor Cormier said the Mayor had approached him and he thought they had set a date of May 1, 2017 but he has not heard that it has definitely been scheduled. Councillor Bodanza asked to have a special committee appointed to investigate the unaccepted streets of Leominster.
