Levan Town Council Work Session
June 20, 2022
6:00 PM
Town Officials present:
Mayor Bruce Rowley and Councilmembers, Ray Evans, Chris Webb, Taryn
Brooks, and Amy Lowe.
Town Staff present: Town Clerk Heather Poulsen
Others present: None
Welcome:
Mayor Bruce Rowley opened the meeting and welcomed all present at 6:02
PM.
Prayer: Chris Webb
Approval of Minutes: TC Work Session- June 8, 2022
Councilmember Ray Evans made the motion to approve the minutes from
June 8, 2022 work session. The motion was seconded by councilmember Chris
Webb. Mayor Bruce Rowley and Councilmembers Chris Webb, Amy Lowe,
Taryn Brooks and Ray Evans voted in favor. Motion Carried.
Discussion Items:
1. FY 2023 Budget
Town Clerk Heather Poulsen explained that her and Town Treasurer
Stephanie Wood had added a line item for the water grant into the budget.
The budget-also included the salary wages as they were requested by the
council. The council felt like the budget looked good.
2. July Town Council Meeting
The town council decided to cancel the work session as well as the regular
town council session that was scheduled for July 13, 2022.
Mayor Rowley informed the council that the Juab County Sheriff's office
contacted him and asked if he would attend a meeting with the county
commissioners. The sheriff's office cannot keep deputies employed due to low

wages and would like to discuss the problem with the mayors and
commissioners.
The council also discussed the fact that they do not have a volunteer to chair
the 24th of July luncheon. The council felt like some school activities such as
football, FFA, drill team, or cheerleaders should be asked if they want to do it
as a fund raiser. They also felt like it should be kept local before offering to
allow businesses outside of the community to take it over.
Adjournment:
Councilmember Ray Evans made the motion, seconded by Councilmember
Taryn Brooks to adjourn. Mayor Bruce Rowley and Councilmembers Ray
Evans, Amy Lowe, Taryn Brooks and Chris Webb all voted in favor.
