RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS; MINUTES OF THE VILLAGE OF LEWISBURG, OHIO, REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING AT 7:00 P.M., JANUARY 16, 2025, AT THE LEWISBURG COMMUNITY CENTER. The regular meeting of the Village of Lewisburg, Ohio Council was called to order at 7:12 P.M. by Mayor Dennis Roberts. ROLL CALL: Eliza Wagoner, Clerk of Council. PRESENT: Mayor Dennis Roberts, Council Members Barb Foster, Mary Nelson, and Lori Pheanis. Marla Colville-Brown, Jackie Sewert and Ted Thies were absent. Also present were Municipal Manager Jeff Sewert, Fire & EMS Chief B.J. Sewert, Interim Police Chief Gary Parker, and Law Director Steve Hobbs. Motion to approve the minutes of the January 2, 2025, regular Village Council Meeting. First by Barb Foster. Second by Lori Pheanis. Roll Call Vote: 4 Yes 0 No. Motion approved. LEGAL: Law Director Hobbs explained the Webster property purchase agreement. 1ST READING (Read by Law Director Hobbs): RESOLUTION ADOPTED PURSUANT TO OHIO REVISED CODE SECTION 5705.03 IN PREPARATION TO PLACING A TAX LVEY ON THE BALLOT AT THE MAY 6, 2025, PRIMARY/SPECIAL ELECTION. Motion to adopt Resolution No. 2025-01: RESOLUTION ADOPTED PURSUANT TO OHIO REVISED CODE SECTION 5705.03 IN PREPARATION TO PLACING A TAX LVEY ON THE BALLOT AT THE MAY 6, 2025, PRIMARY/SPECIAL ELECTION. MUNICIPAL MANAGER: Motion to schedule a Safety Committee Meeting for Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at 6:00 P.M., at the Village Office, and a Ways and Means Committee Meeting for Thursday, January 30, 2025, 6:30 P.M., at the Village Office. Roll Call Vote: 4 Yes 0 No. Motion approved. 1 Manager Sewert gave updates on Kurtis Altic’s presentation at the Planning Commission Meeting, the Lewisburg Local Business Group, Brumbaugh Surveying at the Cumberland Street House, and the Preble County Land Bank potential projects. SAFETY: Chief Sewert gave an update on the upcoming Harrison Township Levy informational meetings. POLICE: Interim Chief Parker gave an update on recent activity in Apple Valley. LIBRARY: Barb Foster shared about recent and upcoming events at the Library. PARK: None. OLD BUSINESS: Mayor Roberts stated that there are 2 openings on the Planning Commission, 1 opening on the Zoning Board, and 1 opening on the Park Board. NEW BUSINESS: None. MISC. BUSINESS: None.
