RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS; MINUTES OF THE VILLAGE OF LEWISBURG, OHIO, REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING AT 7:00 P.M., FEBRUARY 6, 2025, AT THE LEWISBURG COMMUNITY CENTER. The regular meeting of the Village of Lewisburg, Ohio Council was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Mayor Dennis Roberts. ROLL CALL: Eliza Wagoner, Clerk of Council. Also present were Municipal Manager Jeff Sewert, Fire & EMS Chief B.J. Sewert, Interim Police Chief Gary Parker, and Law Director Steve Hobbs. MUNICIPAL MANAGER: After a recommendation from Manager Sewert, Motion to appoint Gary Parker as the Chief of Police. First by Mary Nelson. Second by Marla Colville-Brown. Roll Call Vote: 5 Yes 0 No. Motion approved. Law Director Hobbs administered the Oath Affidavit to Gary Parker. After a recommendation from Manager Sewert and Chief Parker, Motion to hire Mike Powers full- time as a Police Sergeant and promote Andrew Johnson to Police Sergeant, pay will be $25.00 per hour, effective with the pay period starting 2/8/25. Manager Sewert gave updates on a thank you note from a citizen, work on the south wastewater project, the new sludge press, and damage to the recent 503 paving. Motion to schedule a Budget Workshop on February 20, 2025, at 6:30 P.M. First by Lori Pheanis. Second by Barb Foster. Roll Call Vote: 5 Yes 0 No. Motion approved. Manager Sewert gave an update on the recent Firehouse Improvements Project Bids. Motion to authorize the Municipal Manager to get information on potential financing options for this project. First by Barb Foster. Second by Mary Nelson. Roll Call Vote: 5 Yes 0 No. Motion approved. 2 SAFETY: Chief Sewert thanked everyone for the progress on the Firehouse Floor Improvement Project. POLICE: Chief Parker explained the new schedule the Police Department will be starting tomorrow. LIBRARY: Barb Foster stated the next Library Board Meeting will be next Tuesday.
