1. Community Survey for 2024-2028 Strategic Plan:
An ini al le er is planned to be mailed around this week to 660 of the approximately
4,300 households in Liberty Lake to inform them that they will be receiving the Community
Survey. This survey will be sent to the recipients one week a er these le ers are mailed,
and recipients will have the op on to fill out their response online via a Zencity form. A
follow-up reminder card will then be sent 3-5 weeks a er that to the recipients who have
not supplied their responses. The goal is to reach at least about 450 responses in order to
help op mize the sta s cal validity of this baseline survey.
2. City Podcast:
December’s episodes involved 3 installments on introducing 3 city staff members (Human
Resources manager Heidi Workman, and Library staffers George e Roberts and Mikayala
Ki lstved) in conversa ons about playing games at home during the winter me. This was
originally intended to be a single show, but I decided to offer up 3 separate shows instead
for December.
The first release for January features finance director Kyle Dixon, Police Chief Damon
Simmons, and Opera ons & Maintenance director Jen Camp detailing some of the new
resources and features coming to the city as part of the new 2024 budget. January’s
second episode will con nue the 2024 budget services preview with city administrator
Mark McAvoy, library director Jandy Humble, and Planning & Engineering director Lisa Key.
February’s episodes will include “City Employees Who Are Beatles Fans” and “The Cat Who
Came To The City Council Mee ng.”
The overview of Winter Glow (with Mark Saba) was posted in mid-November and was
promoted throughout many of the city’s Winter Glow photo posts on Facebook. It has
nearly overtaken the #1 posi on in all- me listenership (behind “Things To Know About
Golf Carts” with Darin Morgan).
3. Winter Glow survey:
A ZenCity survey invited people to select their favorite Winter Glow displays from 5
categories during Nov. 30 through Jan. 1. Final numbers were announced in a Jan. 3 post
on the city’s Facebook site.
