vØC City o SALARY COMMISSION MINUTES WEDNESDAY, MARCH 20, 2019 CITY HALL 22710 E. COUNTRY VISTA DRIVE 1:30 P.M. CALL TO ORDER Chairman Wissmann called the meeting to order at 1:30 p.m. ROLL CALL: Present: Chairman Joan Wissmann, Salary Commissioner James Baumker, and Salary Commissioner Holly Woodruff City Staff: RJ Stevenson, City Finance Director AGENDA APPROVAL: Chairman Wissmann moved to approve the March 20, 2019 agenda and March 14, 201 9 meeting minutes, seconded by Commissioner Baumker. Motion carried unanimously. FINALIZE INTERVIEW SCHEDULE: Finance Director Stevenson updated the Salary Commission on the interview schedule for Thursday and Friday. Mr. Stevenson asked the Commission if they were available on Monday and Tuesday of the following week. Salary Commission would be available Monday and Tuesday afternoon. INTERVIEW QUESTIONS: Chairman Wissman reviewed what criteria they would be asking the elected officials during the interviews. The Commission would also ask each elected official how their roles compare with the duties that are described in the Mayor and Council Handbook. REVIEW SALARY DATA: The Salary Commission reviewed the latest salary data and pointed to a couple errors in the data. Salary Commission also looked at some of the cities that should be removed from the data based upon Council-Manager form of government. Also to review and possibly remove Mayors that is paid on a full time basis. It was also recommended to remove cities that were below 10000 population and cities above 30,000 in population. Public Comment: Bret Hamblet: Asked if the data would be public comment. Staff responded. Also asked about the Mayor and Council Handbook and if that was an expectation of every elected officials. Mike Kennedy: Commented that this is the first time in seventeen years that there is a report card regarding the Council roles. ADJOURNMENT: Chairman Wissmann moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Commissioner Woodruff. Motion carried unanimously and the meeting adjourned at 2.15 p.m. These minutes are approved March 28, 9.
