MINUTES OF THE DESIGN REVIEW BOARD MEETING OF JULY 20, 2010 Call to Order: Charles Kell, Village Administrator called the meeting to order at 5:15 p.m. Roll Call: Present: Chair Administrator Charles Kell, Diane De Bruin, Steven Mofle, Robert Peterson, Steven Reynebeau Excused: Trustee John Elrick, Hollie Hammen Also Present: Community Development Director Jim Moes, Village Clerk Vicki Schneider Public Appearances for Items Not on the Agenda None Review and Possible Action on Plan for Painting Property at 119 E. Main Street C. Kell noted that the property owner had been working with an architect for a major façade renovation but the estimated cost for the renovation came in higher than the property owner anticipated so for now the renovation project is on hold but the property owner would like to proceed with painting the front of the building as shown in the photos provided to the Board. Board members discussed the issue of the color fudge brown being a trim color and not a body color according to the manual. Staff stated that the public only has access to the color wheel on the website and the wheel does not define that fudge is only a trim color. Staff also stated that the property owner worked with a consultant in selecting the color and the color is only being used as an accent to a portion of the front façade of the building. Board members discussed clarifying the colors on the color wheel. Moved by Robert Peterson, seconded by Steve Mofle to approve the color scheme for the property as presented. Vote on the Motion: Ayes 5, Nay 0 – Motion Carried Unfinished Business None Items for Future Agenda Clarify the colors on the color wheel.
