MINUTES OF THE DESIGN REVIEW BOARD MEETING OF NOVEMBER 12, 2012 Call to Order: Charles Kell, Village Administrator called the meeting to order at 6:45 p.m. Roll Call: Present: Administrator Charles Kell-Chairperson, Village President Michael Vanden Berg, Diane DeBruin, Hollie Hammen, John Elrick, Steve Reynebeau Excused: Rob Peterson Also Present: Community Development Director Jim Moes, Village Clerk Vicki Schneider Melody Heindl, owner of Salon Indulgence and Bill Bos, Contractor Public Appearances for I tems Not on the Agenda None Approval of M inutes of July 9, 2012 Moved by J. Elrick, seconded by D. De Bruin to approve the minutes of July 9, 2012 as presented. Ayes 6, Nays 0 – Motion Carried Review/Action – Design for Salon I ndulgence – E. M ain Street Bill Bos presented samples of the materials and colors being used for the trim, brick, and siding. Ms. Heindl stated that the color shown on the plan for the awnings is not the true color and the color she is considering is a deep wine or burgundy or a navy or denim blue. The trim color is dark brown and the brick would be lighter than the yellow brick color shown in the design. Discussion took place. S. Reynebeau questioned if this building is constructed will it still allow for the street to be straightened in the future and staff stated that there is enough area set aside for the intersection to be straightened if at some time the Village Board decides to go ahead with that design. Moved by J. Elrick, seconded by S. Reynebeau to approve the design for Salon Indulgence acknowledging the approval is based on the materials and colors presented noting that the brick color may be lighter than what was presented. Further Discussion: H. Hammen asked when the project was going to be completed. Mr. Bos stated that they will be moving ahead with the project right away. H. Hammen stated that the landscaping in the front of the building will be nice and she also asked about the temporary sidewalk. C. Kell stated that staff had requested that the building be moved back for landscaping and so the awnings did not hang over the sidewalk and the temporary sidewalk will allow for access to the main entrance. Vote on the Motion: Ayes 6, Nays 0, - Motion Carried Unfinished Business None I tems for Future Agenda J. Moes stated that a future meeting will be needed to review a request for a replacement sign for Curves. Adjournment Moved by J. Elrick, seconded by D.
