Fire Commission Meeting Minutes September 10, 2012, 5:45 PM. Fire Station Call to Order at 5:45 PM. Present: President Carl Peeters, Secretary Pat Nikolay, Commission Members Bill Verhagen, Scott Schommer, and Dick Schevers. Also present was Chief Mark Janssen. Secretary’s Report May 14, 2012 meeting – motion made by Scott, seconded by Dick to accept minutes, all ayes. Special Meeting August 13, 2012 meeting - discussion took place to fill in people who weren’t at that meeting. Motion made by Bill, seconded by Pat to accept minutes, all ayes. Old Business Motion made by Dick to approve appointments listed below, seconded by Scott, all ayes: Jon Brockman, promoted to Assistant Chief from Captain, Steve Andres promoted to Captain from Lieutenant, Duane Nechodom to Lieutenant/Engineer from Engineer, Scott Van Deurzen to Lieutenant Other Old Business – there was no other old business. New Business Motion was made by Bill, seconded by Dick to approve request by Chief Mark Janssen for approval of new hires listed below pending completion of their coursework, all ayes: Casey Verbruggen, Luke Brockman , Joe Romenesko, Rob Vanderloop , Joe Peeters Other New Business: Motion made by Scott, seconded by Dick to approve the appointments of men listed below to fire fighter positions, as they have finished their required coursework, all ayes: Andy Vanderloop, Derek VanDuerzen, Pete Hietpas, Ben DeBruin, Eric Valentyn, Matt Brockman, Brian Lamers Adjourn at 6:02 PM.
