Also reported: at Well #4, three shells were acidized and three skids of resin were added to the treatment system. Work on the Wireless Internet system at Well No. 2 has been started. There was one water main break on Lincoln Avenue by Heesakker Park. Two hydrants were replaced. During inspections, eight hydrants were found to be leaking and six of them have been fixed to date. There was a customer complaint from Riverside Drive about iron. Director of Public Works R. Van Gheem reported that planning is moving forward for next year’s projects. R. Van Gheem also reported that he followed-up with Chuck Peeters regarding the fire hydrant issue and Mr. Peeters appears to be satisfied with the issue. It was also reported that the design work on Well #3 is about 1 ½ weeks away from being completed and it should be ready to present to the Commission at next month’s meeting. Finance Director D. Haug reviewed the budget status report and indicated that revenues are about even and expenses were up about 6% over last year. The increase in expenses was primarily due to an increase in treatment cost related to the cost of the chemicals and the fact that salt costs went up significantly from 2009 to 2010. D. Haug also reviewed the status of outstanding assessments on the books for the water utility. Approval of Vouchers Moved by Commissioner Vanden Heuvel, seconded by Commissioner Wegand to approve and authorize payment of the vouchers from their respective funds as presented.
