REPORT PREPARED BY: Kent Taylor, Public Works Director REPORT DATE: May 26, 2021 ADMINISTRATOR'S REVIEW / COMMENTS: Concur with Kent’s analysis- JPF EXPLANATION: Little Chute Public Works staff, The City of Kaukauna, and Graef Engineering have reviewed the Equipment Standby Change Order request in the amount of twenty thousand one hundred eighty-three and eight tenths ($20,183.80). The equipment standby was caused by the delay of the property transfer from the Canadian National Railroad (CN) to the City of Kaukauna located on the East end of the project. The property transfer was to be completed by Mid-August 2020. Michels progress schedule and planned work sequence was created from that estimate date (August 21, 2020). Work was scheduled to proceed from the installation of the West abutment to the East. The East abutment area was to be clear for construction by August 21, 2020. The East abutment work was to have started the first week of September and completed by September 30, 2020. Because of the delay, the East abutment work started on October 21, 2020. Michels Corporation is seeking payment for sixteen (16) working days totaling one hundred forty (140) hours of equipment standby charge for the Manitowoc 10000 crane and the D19 pile hammer. There was a workforce reduction for the time period because of the delay. Manitowoc 10000 Crane, Standby hourly rate: $118.25/hour x 140 hours =$16,555.00 D19-42 Delmag Diesel Pile Hammer, Standby hourly rate: $25.92 x 140 hours = $3,628.80. Total equipment standby Change Order request: $20,183.80. The Village of Little Chute and The City of Kaukauna will equally split the total cost $20,183.80. Little Chute’s portion = Ten Thousand Ninety-One and Nine Tenths ($10,091.90).
