Members of the public may view and listen to the open session of this meeting at www.facebook.com/CityofLodi/.  AGENDA ITEM B-01 COUNCIL COMMUNICATION AGENDA TITLE: Receive Overview of City’s Capital Improvement Project Program MEETING DATE: May 23, 2023 PREPARED BY: Public Works Director RECOMMENDED ACTION: Receive Overview of the City’s Capital Improvement Project Program. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The City of Lodi utilizes a Capital Improvement Project (CIP) Program. The purpose of the CIP is to maintain, replace or improve existing City assets; or construct new assets that are necessary to support the City’s infrastructure needs. The City’s CIP is integrated into the annual budget process, is quite broad in scope and utilizes a variety of funding sources to execute projects that benefit the Water, Wastewater, Streets and Transit Divisions. The CIP is also utilized to plan and deliver projects that support General Fund assets. At the Shirtsleeve session, Public Works Department staff will present information outlining the life cycle of a typical capital improvement project, the various project specific steps that are needed to deliver a project from start to finish, and discussion on the various projects that are currently in the City’s CIP program. In addition, Staff will request feedback on the initial and proposed future flood protection projects to address the street flooding that occurred during the recent atmospheric events.
