Members of the public may view and listen to the open session of this meeting at www.facebook.com/CityofLodi/.  AGENDA ITEM B-01 COUNCIL COMMUNICATION AGENDA TITLE: Receive Rate Information Regarding Proposed Future Water and Wastewater Rate Schedules Subject to Proposition 218 Public Hearing, to be Held January 17, 2024 MEETING DATE: September 26, 2023 PREPARED BY: Public Works Director RECOMMENDED ACTION: Receive rate information regarding proposed future water and wastewater rate schedules subject to Proposition 218 public hearing, to be held January 17, 2024. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: On November 15, 2023, Council will be requested to set a public hearing for January 17, 2024 to consider adopting future water and wastewater rate schedules, pursuant to Proposition 218, for the period from February 1, 2024 through December 31, 2028. In preparation of the new five-year program, staff engaged the services of Hildebrand Consulting, LLC to conduct an extensive financial plan and cost of services study examining the operational costs, water and wastewater treatment, water delivery, wastewater collection, facility replacement/upgrades and many other factors found in the 2023 Water and Wastewater Rate Study. Council will receive information outlining the water and wastewater financial plans, cost of services, rate design, and the proposed five-year rate plan with bill comparisons with neighboring cities.
