F. REPORTS
F-1 Library Director Report
Building & Technology:
• New water fountains and a water filling station have been installed.
• The Foundation has set aside about $18,000 for a new service desk. A total of three bids will be
gathered to retrofit and make some new additions to the service desk.
• The current estimate for the roof to be repaired is $346,000
Staff & Volunteers:
• The position of Librarian II became vacant in May.
• Good candidates were found for full-time library assistant
• Director and library staff were awarded the 2022 PRExcellence Award by the California Library
Association
• Four fellows were selected for the lunch at the library fellowship
Continuing Education & Meetings:
• Adrianna Martin completed “Creating an Oral History Program for your Library” with the
intention of bringing this to our library.
• Lodi Police department trained library staff on active shooter and active attacker response.
• Director Akiliah presented at the Kiwanis Rotary Club.

Finance:
• Per Trustee Chow’s request, the current fund balance was attached.
Programming & Outreach:
Outreach
• Outreach was done by Yvette Herrera by attending the open house at Lawrence Elementary.
Programs
• California State Parks program has added more passes since May. We have a total of 4 passes
at the circulation desk.
• City of Lodi will be having its inaugural Poet Laureate program. Parks and Recreation supplied
this grant through the arts commission. The Lodi Library will be assisting with four out of the
seven objectives.
• Homework Help is not in session through the summer but will resume in August.

Youth services:
• The Teen Advisory Board has met three-time since March. They have been contributing greatly
to all of the teen summer reading program ideas.

• Priorities are to update the circulation desk.
• Teen Advisory Board will be making an ask for the month of July.

• The Bridge event has been moved to the Fall of this year
• Trivia Night event is still postponed at this time.
