Youth services:
• The Teen Advisory Board developed a mental health program alongside the director titled Teens Helping Teens.
Director Manuel stated the state library is slow with the notification on sending out the request for proposals and is
delayed in the notification if the library has received the grant. If the library receives the grant for Teens Helping
Teens, it will be around $8,000, but if the grant is not given to the library, the project will still be funded and
continued. Teens will get certified in Mental Health First Aid to recognize the signs and symptoms to administer
first to their friends and classmates. The month of May is mental awareness month, so the library will have one-off
workshops, a teen book club that will revolve around mental health, and a podcast will be started as well. The
teens will be trained on how to edit their podcast by someone who already has a podcast. The finale for the Teens
Helping Teens will be a dance at the library. Overall, these programs will be geared to help destigmatize mental
health and raise awareness. Director Manuel shared that Andriana will be the new liaison for the Teen Advisory
board.

• Phillips Financial value on December 31, 2023: $157,557.42

quarter. More updates will follow after the foundation's upcoming board meeting.
E-4 Friends of the Lodi Public Library Report – Kathryn Siddle
• No updates to report.
E-5 Bike Maintenance Station – Akiliah Manuel
• Director Manuel stated that Trustee Nick had requested the possibility of a Bike Maintenance Station. The
Trustees at the last board meeting had tasked the director to speak with Public Works. Public Works agreed to
install the Bike Station under their department funding and will not be charging the library or the Trustees for the
funding. The director recommended that the Trustees approve the purchase of the bike maintenance station,
which was contingent on the answers from Public Works. The total cost of the purchase would be $1832 not
including shipping or tax. Trustee Dalebout motioned to approve the purchase of the bike maintenance station.
Trustee Melton seconds. Motioned approved.
