PUBLIC COMMENTS
• Several members of the public voiced questions and concerns regarding the potential transition of the Lodi Public

program independence, fundraising, asset management, costs, administrative authority, and potential changes to
room reservation processes. Trustee Kooger thanked attendees for their engagement but explained that
questions outside the meeting agenda could not be addressed.
Darien Provence expressed concerns about a lack of transparency and stressed the importance of community
involvement in the decision-making process. City Manager Scott Carney reassured attendees that no decisions
have been made, explaining that the process is still in the study session phase, with public discussions planned
for the future.
Kathryn Siddle, President of the Friends of the Lodi Public Library, shared her disappointment over recent news
reports, noting that the uncertainty has deeply impacted those who have dedicated years to the library. Trustee
Casey encouraged community members to reach out to their City Council representatives, as the final decision
regarding the library’s future will rest with the Council.
