Regular Council Meeting
Thursday, January 8, 2015 7:30pm
Council Chambers
The Mayor and Council for the City of Loganville met for their regularly scheduled
Council Meeting on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 7:30pm in the Council Chambers.
Mayor Dan Curry and Council Members Chuck Bagley, Skip Baliles, Jay Boland, Mark
Kiddoo, Mike Jones and Rey Martinez were all present.
Mayor Dan Curry called the meeting to order at 7:30pm.
Pastor Gravits with Loganville United Methodist Church gave the invocation and Boy
Scout Harrison Brown led the pledge to the flag.
Council Member Rey Martinez made a motion to adopt the agenda as presented.
Council Member Mark Kiddoo seconded the motion. Motion carried 6-0.
Council Member Skip Baliles made a motion to approve the minutes from last
month’s meeting as presented. Council Member Jay Boland seconded the motion.
Motion carried 6-0.
Council Member Mark Kiddoo made a motion to approve the financial reports for
November and December as presented. Council Member Rey Martinez seconded the
motion. Motion carried 6-0.
Council Member Mike Jones made a motion to approve the Blight Ordinance as
presented. Council Member Chuck Bagley seconded the motion. Motion carried 6-0.
Council Member Mike Jones made a motion to adopt the 2015 Uniform Building
Codes. Council Member Skip Baliles seconded the motion. Motion carried 6-0.
Council Member Mark Kiddoo made a motion to approve the updated Planning
Department including the increase of engineering plan review fees due to the
increase in costs from our engineers (increased costs passed directly to customers
with no additional markups). Council Member Mike Jones seconded the motion.
Motion carried 6-0.
Council Member Mark Kiddoo made a motion to approve the necessary budget mid-
year budget adjustments and audit adjustments required per the Audit. Council
Member Rey Martinez seconded the motion. Motion carried 6-0.
Council Member Rey Martinez made a motion to approve the purchase of two new
fire trucks for $1.375,777 through a 10 year lease with an approximate yearly
payment of $160,280.60. Council Member Chuck Bagley seconded the motion.
Motion carried 6-0.
Council Member Chuck Bagley made a motion to approve the 2015 LMIG
$$116,291.95 of which the City is responsible for matching 30% or $26,836.60.
Council Member Rey Martinez seconded the motion. Motion carried 6-0.
With no further business, Council Member Rey Martinez made a motion to adjourn.
Council Member Jay Boland seconded the motion. Motion carried 6-0.
Meeting adjourned at 8:03pm.
