CITY OF LOGANILLE
Regular Council Meeting
Thursday, January 12, 2017 6: 30pm
Council Chambers
The Mayor and Council for the City of Loganville met on Thursday, January 12, 2017
at 6: 30pm for their regularly scheduled Council Meeting. Mayor Dan Curry and
Council Members Skip Baliles, Jay Boland, Linda Dodd, Danny Ford and Mark Kiddoo
were all present. Council Member Rey Martinez arrived at the meet at 7: 01pm after
all business was conducted during the State of the City Address.
Mayor Dan Curry called the meeting to order at 6: 30pm.
Rev. Mickey Oliver from New Testament Baptist Church gave the invocation and
members of Boy Scout Troop # 536 led the pledge to the flag.
Council Member Jay Boland made a motion to move the State of the City address to
the bottom of the agenda and approve the agenda. Council Member Danny Ford
seconded the motion. Motion carried 5- 0.
Council Member Jay Boland made a motion to approved the consent agenda as
follows:
a. Last Month' s Minutes
b. Last Month' s Financial Report
c. Replacement Hydraulic Pump - $ 9, 655. 89
d. Emergency Repairs for Main Break - $ 57, 862. 00
e. Walton County Water Contract
f. Phone System Bid - $ 13, 016. 00
g. Rental Fee Rates:
i. Rock Gym - $ 800 / $ 500 Deposit ( Refundable)
ii. Ag Building - $ 500 / $ 500 Deposit ( Refundable)
iii. Rock Gym and Ag Building- $ 1, 250 / $ 500 Deposit
Refundable)
iv. Anna Holbrook - $ 150 ( No deposit required)
Council Member Linda Dodd seconded the motion. Motion carried 5- 0.
At this time Mayor Dan Curry opened the floor for nominations for Vice Mayor.
Council Member Danny Ford nominated Council Member Mark Kiddoo. Council
Member Jay Boland nominated Council Member Rey Martinez. Council Member
Linda Dodd made a motion that nominations be closed. Council Member Jay Boland
seconded the motion. Motion carried 5- 0.
Mayor Dan Curry called for a vote for each nominee. Council Members Mark Kiddoo,
Skip Baliles and Danny Ford voted in favor of Mark Kiddoo. Council Members Jay
Boland and Linda Dodd voted in favor of Rey Martinez. Council Member Mark
Kiddoo will be the Vice Mayor for 2017.
Council Member Skip Baliles made a motion to appoint Charlotte George to the
Library Board. Council Member Linda Dodd seconded the motion. Motion carried
5- 0.
Council Member Mark Kiddoo made a motion to authorize the LDA to advertise and
conduct a sale of the surplus school equipment/ furniture acquired from the
purchase of the elementary school. Council Member Linda Dodd seconded the
motion. Motion carried 5- 0.
Council Member Mark Kiddoo made a motion to allow the LDA to utilize the funds
from the surplus school equipment/ furniture to be used for their operating capital.
Council Member Jay Boland seconded the motion. Motion carried 5- 0.
At this time, Mayor Curry gave the State of the City Address.
With no further business, Council Member Linda Dodd made a motion to adjourn.
Council Member Rey Martinez seconded the motion. Motion carried 6- 0.
