FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, June 09, 2022 at 5:00 PM Council Chambers Chairwoman Anne Huntsinger called the meeting to order at 5:04pm. PRESENT Chairwoman Anne Huntsinger Committee Member Jay Boland Committee Member Linda Dodd Mayor Skip Baliles 1. NEW BUSINESS A. Library Updates Chairwoman Huntsinger explained the current status of the Library Board and their efforts regarding their application for grants funds for the construction of a new facility. The Library Board has worked to develop a plan for a new library and it's funding. The estimated cost if $7,743,950 per feasibility study based on a 15,000 square foot facility. The Library System would like to apply for a matching grant for an amount ranging between $2-$3M. Walton County has pledged between $500,000 to $750,000. She further explained that the City has capped their donation toward this project at $1.5 million and land for the project. They believe they will be able to raise the balance of the funding needed for this project. It was explained that the Library is asking for the City's support of the project in order to apply for the grant which is due into the State by July 1st. City Manager Danny Roberts explained that should be Library Board be awarded this grant there would be an IGA drawn up between the City and the Library that lays out any concerns of the Council. After discussion the Committee unanimously recommended having a Called Council Meeting Thursday, June 16th at 6:30pm for the Council to discuss the matter and if approved be able to meet the grant application deadline. B. Updates / Reports 2. ADJOURNMENT Motion made by Chairwoman Huntsinger to adjourn, Seconded by Committee Member Boland.
