Roll Call Present: Dan Quinn - President; Mary Litviak; Steve Morgensen; Harry Pulvermacher; Brandon Bindl; Adam Reno (absent); Chris Conner Also in attendance: Esther Marshall, Sandra Creasey, Babe Kraska, Brad Seymour, Theresa Jensen, Christa Quinn, Troy Rinehart, Loren Glasbrenner Join ZOOM Meeting: Linda Schwanke, Ethel Fitzgibbon, AJ and Sara Christianson. 2. Approve Agenda A motion was made by Steve Morgenson to approve the agenda and it was seconded by Brandon Bindl. Motion carried. 3. Approve Minutes A motion was made by Harry Pulvermacher to approve the minutes and it was seconded by Steve Morgenson. Motion carried. 4. Licenses Liquor license renewals, operators' licenses, and tobacco licenses were reviewed and approved for the term of July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024. Motions were made and seconded for each group of licenses, and all were approved with no opposition. 5. Temporary Class "B" Retailers License The board discussed the application for a temporary class "B" retailers license for the Lone Rock 4th of July Committee. A motion was made by Steve Morgenson and seconded by Harry Pulvermacher to approve the temporary class "B" retailer’s license. Motion carried. 6. Application for a Fireworks Permit The board discussed the application for fireworks permit for the 2023 Lone Rock 4th of July Committee at Fireman's Park from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM on July 4th. A motion was made by Chris Conner and seconded by Brandon Bindl to approve the fireworks permit for the event at Fireman's Park. Motion carried. 7. 4th of July Celebration Update The board received an update on the 4th of July Committee's plans for the upcoming celebration. 8. Multi Dog License The board discussed the approval of a multi-dog license application. A motion was made by Harry Pulvermacher and seconded by Brandon Bindl to approve the multi-dog license to Steve Morgenson. Motion carried. Steve Morgenson abstained. 9. Main Street Trees The topic of Main Street trees was brought up for discussion again. Concerns and opinions on the removal or replacement of the trees were shared, including options for eliminating or replacing all the trees alongside the street. Village Spring Clean-up Inspection The board reviewed the results of the Village Spring Clean-up Inspection. They mentioned there are issues that were spotted and will be turned over to Richland County Sheriff Department. 11. Library Troy Rinehart reported 133 visitors, 110 checkouts and 26 kids for story time. Completed recycling project and placed a new bench out front. Summer activities will include rock painting, bilingual story time, 4th of July parade, reptiles, fishing demonstration, donkeys, canines, etc. Computer tables have been full every day since school went out. 12. Public Works Department Village water tower will be pressured washed Thursday, June 15th. Stump removal will be completed by the 4th of July. 13. Public Input The school superintendent, Loren Glasbrenner provided an update on the community survey findings and recommendations for the school district's facilities and developments. A community member expressed concern about how proposed district initiatives would impact younger community members and property taxes, asked about utilizing metal detectors to increase student safety in schools and about the bus system in the area. The school superintendent responded to all concerns by clarifying the district's initiatives and goals and addressing specific questions. Dan Quinn reopened public input to provide a police report for May 2023 from Clay Porter. Sheriff of Richland County. They wrote 8 citations all on or adjacent to Highway 14 and had 27 incidents, combination of self-initiated contacts and complaints call into dispatch. Pillars on the Memorial Walk will be completed next week. 14. Upcoming Village or Community Meetings The 4th of July Committee takes place at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, June 14th at the Village Office. The Finance Committee is scheduled for Tuesday, July 18th at 6:00 PM at the Village Office. 15. Next Board Meeting The next Village Board Meeting is set for July 11th, 2023, at 7:00 PM in the Village Office. 16. Review Check Register/Bills The board reviewed the check register/bills, initialed by all present. 17. Adjourn A motion was made to adjourn.
