Attachments: 15-023BS Spectrum clean-sealant v2.pdf Spectrum Film Form Sealant Warranty 03.13.15.pdf CM Gloss-Matte (Sealer-Stain).pdf Gloss & Matte (Film Forming Sealers).pdf Vice Chair Jeffer informed of test area at Legends, dramatic difference between Commissioner Schneiter asked about horizontal versus vertical, and the time Page 3 of 5 CITY OF LONG BEACH THURSDAY, MARCH 19, 2015 BELMONT SHORE PARKING BAY SHORE LIBRARY, 195 BAY SHORE AND BUSINESS AVENUE, THIRD THURSDAY, 9:00 AM IMPROVEMENT AREA ADVISORY COMMISSION MINUTES of duration Chris Terry, Spectrum commented that the time frame of re-sealing is 2-5 years, and is dependant on foot traffic, hazardous material, oil spillage Schneiter spoke about various debris, stains Commissioner Forsberg spoke about the BigBelly projected cost savings, and potential for sealant to reduce the Spectrum contract for regular steam cleaning Terry spoke about setting aside any profits to cover costs of resealing, touch up areas, 2 years of repair covered Forsberg asked about cost savings Schneiter spoke asked about increase frequency of power washing due to sealant Jeffer asked about double frequency of washing Forsberg spoke about waiting for more time to evaluate the test area Terry spoke about test area completed September 2014 Jeffer spoke about test area completed over six months ago Terry spoke about the benefit being appearance, less detergents, less water (750 gal reduced by half) Forsberg spoke about BigBelly example of cost saving Jeffer asked about the need to clean sidewalks less often Terry spoke about the possibility of less frequent cleanings due to sealant Schneiter spoke about potential reduced labor time Forsberg spoke about wanting to hear from the manufacturer again regarding horizontal verus vertical applications and endurance Jeffer asked Commissioners if this agenda item should be laid over to gather more information regarding durability and cost savings Terry spoke about the three years of contract remaining Schneiter asked if the contract could be revisite relative to the sidewalk sealant project Forsberg spoke about increasing the number of washings Jeffer spoke about bringing back the manufacturer next month, and dicuss cleaning frequency and cost savings potential Fosberg spoke about also considering expanding cleaning to other weeks A motion was made by Commissioner Forsberg, seconded by Schneiter, to laid over. Kedrin Hopkins, Conservation Corps of Long Beach spoke regarding his taking over for departed Joyce McDevitt, and his efforts to employ more staff in Belmont Shore Commissioner Starr asked about status of McDevitt Hopkins spoke about BigBellys Vice Chair Jeffer asked if BigBelly representatives respond quickly Hopkins responed that Waxie is a good company to work with Melinda Cotton spoke about the recent Gazette article regarding the potential purchase of the Roe property, informed about the upcoming CD 3 meeting to discuss this possible project Dede Rossi will inform the BSBA members of the upcoming meeting regarding Roe Julie Maleki spoke about the March 30, 2015 meeting to be held at the CD 3 Field Office, 340 Nieto Ave. to discuss the Roe property Rossi spoke about the scoop the poop signs on the BigBellys, and the smile in Belmont Shore campaign ADJOURNMENT The meeting adjourned at approximately 9:45AM.
