CHAIR REPORT 9:08AM 1) Security Camera Project. Page 1 of 7 CITY OF LONG BEACH THURSDAY, JUNE 18, 2015 BELMONT SHORE PARKING BAY SHORE LIBRARY, 195 BAY SHORE AND BUSINESS AVENUE, THIRD THURSDAY, 9:00 AM IMPROVEMENT AREA ADVISORY COMMISSION MINUTES · Technology Services believes all cameras and recording system will be fully operation by the end of this month. 2) Smart Meter Program - Street Meters. · Sensor not installed - pilot test project ongoing - no data or report yet. (Analysis to be completed early July, decision soon after) · Nothing to report on meter stickers. · Based on a financial study, the City expects 40 percent credit card use in its first year at a $0.75 rate. Currently, with several weeks of data, credit card use is approximately 26 percent. This figure continues to trend upward since installation, and City staff expect that this number will increase as the summer brings additional visitors to Belmont Shore. 3) Sidewalk Sealant. · Met with and reviewed project with Director of PW. · Director of PW is investigating liability and maintenance concerns. 4) BSBA Annual Report and Budget. · Forwarded to City Council for Approval - date? (Resolution of Intention - 8/18; Public Hearing - 9/15) 5) Elimination of Reverse Compounding in Parking Lot Meters. · At last meeting motion was made to raise the south side parking meters to $0.50/hour based on an assumption that north side meters are $0.50/hour - which is not correct. All meters in public parking lots, including those on the north side, are $0.25/hour. · As such, pursuant to the approved motion, compounding will be eliminated on the south side meters, but not increase in parking rates will be made. 6) Purchase and Installation of 12 new Big Belly trash receptacles. · Working on PO for project. · No date yet for installation. (In the process of getting City Manager approval) PUBLIC PARTICIPATION: Members of the public are invited to address the Commission on items of interest to the public within Commission jurisdiction. Lorbeer, Samuel Lippke and Eric Forsberg REGULAR AGENDA Due to time constraints, Items 4 and 5 were not discussed. 4. 15-038BS Recommendation for approval of expenditure not-to-exceed $10,000 for a feasibility study regarding the City’s purchase of the property located at 5374 E 2nd Street in Belmont Shore, and the construction of an automated parking structure at that site.
