Arnold, Present: Charles Whitehead and Ethel Powers Commissioners Michael W. McCarthy Absent: CALL TO ORDER Chairman Thompson opened the meeting at 1:38 p.m. in the Code Enforcement Conference Room. SWEARING OF WITNESSES Chairman Thompson referred to Ordinance No. C-5232, asked for all persons who planned to give testimony, to stand, raise their right hand, and they were sworn in by Myeesha Ayala. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES FOR SEPTEMBER 18, 2017 It was moved by Vice-Chairwoman Arnold and seconded by Board Member Powers to approve the minutes as submitted. CASE NO. 7881-12-17: 500 ST. LOUIS AVENUE, WALKER WEST HOLDINGS, LLC, C/O ANTHONY WALKER, OWNER, CE CASE NO. CEHC241502, COUNCIL DIST. 2 ADMINISTRATIVE CITATION APPEAL CASE Chairman Thompson called for the owner or representative to appear before the Board and Loly Marin, Property Supervisor, appeared. It was moved by Board Member Witten and seconded by Board Member Hamilton to conclude the hearing, determine that the appellant is the "Responsible Party" and the cited violations did exist on the date the citation was issued at the property located at 500 St. Louis Avenue. It was moved by Board Member Hamilton and seconded by Board Member Witten to conclude the hearing, determine that the appellant is the "Responsible Party" for the cited violations and the appellant violated section 6.16.100(A) of the Long Beach Municipal Code because on the date of June 24, 2017 at 1:59 AM the evidence shows the appellant walking the dogs off leash. OPPORTUNITY FOR PUBLIC COMMENTS NEW OR UNFINISHED BUSINESS Mr. Keating distributed the Board of Examiners, Appeals and Condemnation 2018 meeting calendar. In addition, he introduced our new Deputy City Attorney, Sarah Green.
