OCEAN BOULEVARD APPEALS AND QUEEN MARY CONFERENCE ROOM, 1:30 PM CONDEMNATION MINUTES Jim Thompson, Chairman Ethel Powers, Member Diane Arnold, Vice-Chairman Charles Whitehead, Member Steve Gerdes, Member Eric Witten, Member Michael Hamilton, Member Art Sanchez, Deputy City Attorney Karl Wiegelman, Bureau Manager Angel Arredondo, Code Enforcement Officer Myeesha Ayala, Secretary MINUTES CALL TO ORDER Chairman Thompson opened the meeting at 1:30 p.m. in the Queen Mary Conference Room. ROLL CALL Commissioners Steve Gerdes, Ethel Powers, Charles Whitehead, Eric Witten, Present: Diane L. Arnold and Jim Thompson Commissioners Michael Hamilton Excused: SWEARING OF WITNESSES Chairman Thompson referred to Ordinance No. 5232, asked for all persons who plan to give testimony, to stand, raise their right hand, and be sworn in by Myeesha Ayala. Board Member Whitehead arrived at 1:36 p.m. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1 Recommendation to approve the minutes from December 2, 2019. It was moved by Board Member Witten and seconded by Board Member Powers to approve the minutes as submitted. The motion carried 6-1. Board Member Gerdes abstained. C-7897-02-20: 731 W. 28TH STREET: GWYNNE GREGORY, OWNER; CE CASE NO. CEAC264755 ADMINISTRATIVE CITATION CASE Chairman Thompson called for the owner or representative to appear before the board and no person appeared on behalf of the case. It was moved by Board Member Witten and seconded by Board Member Arnold to conclude the hearing, determine that the cited party is the current owner and responsible party of the subject property located at 731 W. 28th Street and the violations listed did exist on the date the citation was issued. The motion carried unanimously. 3 CASE NO. 7898-02-20: 3694 STEVELY AVENUE: STEVEN THOMPSON, OWNER; CE CASE NO. CEAC261789 ADMINISTRATIVE CITATION CASE Vice-Chairwoman Arnold called for the owner or representative to appear before the board and no person appeared on behalf of the case. It was moved by Board Member Witten and seconded by Board Member Gerdes to conclude the hearing, determine that the appellant is the responsible party and the cited violations did exist on the date the citation was issued at the property located at 3694 Stevely Avenue. The motion carried 6-1. Chairman Thompson abstained.
