Arnold and Jim Thompson Commissioners Ethel Powers Excused: FLAG SALUTE Myeesha Ayala lead us in the flag salute. DIRECTOR'S REPORT Karl Wiegelman has no items for the Board. MINUTES Recommendation to approve the minutes of August 17, 2020. CASE NO. 7903-07-20: 1990 LEMON AVENUE; RESTORE LA LIVING, LLC, C/O RAYMOND CHACON, OWNER, SB CASE NO. CESB270130 SUBSTANDARD BUILDING CASE Chairman Thompson called for the owner or representative to appear on behalf of the case and Raymond Chacon, 1276 E. Colorado Blvd # 207, Pasadena, CA 91106, owner, appeared on behalf of the case. It was moved by Board member Hamilton and seconded by Board member Gerdes to conclude the hearing, adopt the findings of the Building Official as the board's findings, determine that the One-Story Single Family Dwelling located at 1990 Lemon Ave, Long Beach, CA 90806 is substandard and a public nuisance, and order the owner to rehabilitate the structure as per findings dated July 9, 2020 by November 21, 2020. The board would like the owners to return to the board in 60 days with an update on the progress with planning's approval. Also, order the owner to maintain the property in a safe, clean and secure manner until the demolitions or rehabilitations are complete. The motion carried unanimously. BEAC CASE NO. 7904-09-20: 600 E. VIA BAROLA; DOUG SPAHR, OWNER, CE CASE NO. CEAC260669 ADMINISTRATIVE CITATION CASE Chairman Thompson asked for the owner or representative to appear on behalf of the board and no person appeared on behalf of the case. It was moved by Board member Witten and seconded by Board member Hamilton that the appellant is the current owner and responsible party of the subject property located at 600 Via Barola and the violations listed did exist on the date the citation was issued.
