A motion was made by Councilwoman Price, seconded by Councilwoman Mungo, to approve recommendation, as amended, to [1] request City Attorney to draft an ordinance to implement the Program, with a sunset of one year to be renewed at the fiscal year; [2] reduce qualification amount for incentive for renovation and construction to $2,000: An incentive amount equal to the amount of one year of the current business license tax for the business if the total value of the renovation or construction exceeds $2,000, or an amount equal to two years of the business license tax if the total value of the renovation or construction exceeds $4,000; and [3] refer the ordinance to the Economic Development Commission once it has been approved by Council.
