The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 7 - Pearce, Price, Supernaw, Mungo, Andrews, Uranga and Richardson Absent: 2 - Gonzalez and Austin 1. 19-0001 Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to submit two Stipulations with Request for Award for approval by the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board, and if so approved, authority to pay $78,662.50, with future medical care for cervical spine, lumbar spine, hips and right shoulder in compliance with the Appeals Board Order for Greg Eldridge. A motion was made to approve recommendation on the Consent Calendar. 2. 19-0002 Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to submit four Stipulations with Request for Award for approval by the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board, and if so approved, authority to pay 1) $29,217.50, and 2) separate authority to pay $62,350, and 3) separate authority to pay $46,110, and 4) separate authority to pay $26,245 in compliance with the Appeals Board Order for Melvin Megee. A motion was made to approve recommendation on the Consent Calendar. 3. 19-0003 Recommendation to Approve the minutes for the City Council meetings of Tuesday, December 4, December 11, and December 18, 2018 and the Study Session of Tuesday, December 18, 2018. A motion was made to approve recommendation on the Consent Calendar. 4. 19-0004 Recommendation to refer to City Attorney damage claims received between December 10, 2018 and December 31, 2018. (District 2) A motion was made to approve recommendation and adopt Resolution No. RES-19-0001 on the Consent Calendar. Enactment No: RES-19-0001 9. 19-0009 Recommendation to authorize City Manager, or designee, to execute a Revocable Permit granting the Grand Prix Association of Long Beach permission to occupy and use certain areas for parking and hospitality during the staging of the 2019 Grand Prix of Long Beach. (District 2) A motion was made to approve recommendation on the Consent Calendar. 10. 19-0010 Recommendation to adopt Specifications No. RFP FM18-126 and award a contract to Hinderliter, de Llamas & Associates (dba HdL Companies), of Diamond Bar, CA, for sales, use, and transaction and use tax auditing, projection, recovery, and consultant services, in an annual amount not to exceed $350,000, for a period of two years, with Page 6 of 11 CITY OF LONG BEACH TUESDAY, JANUARY 8, 2019 CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 333 W. Enactment No: RES-19-0002 11. 19-0011 Recommendation to authorize City Manager, or designee, to execute a contract, and all necessary amendments including term extensions, with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to receive and expend the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration Grant in the total amount of $360,968, for the period of September 30, 2018 to September 29, 2021; and Increase appropriations in the General Grants Fund (SR 120) in the Fire Department (FD) by $360,968, offset by grant revenue. (Citywide) A motion was made to approve recommendation on the Consent Calendar. 12. 19-0012 Recommendation to authorize City Manager, or designee, to execute a grant agreement, and any documents necessary, to accept and expend grant funding in the amount of $10,000, from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, for five days of dog play group training for staff and volunteers at the Parks, Recreation and Marine Department, Animal Care Services Bureau; and Increase appropriations in the General Fund (GF) in the Parks, Recreation and Marine Department (PR) by $10,000, offset by grant revenue.
