1. 21-0479 Recommendation to suspend Council rule contained in Long Beach
Municipal Code 2.03.020 (B) to cancel the meetings of June 22, 2021

2. 21-0480 Recommendation to receive and file travel report to Sacramento, CA on
April 29-30, 2021 for the League of California Cities Board Meeting.
A motion was made to approve recommendation on the
Consent Calendar.
3. 21-0477 Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to submit two Stipulations
with Request for Award for approval by the Workers’ Compensation
Appeals Board, and if so approved, authority to pay 1) $120,422.50
and also 2) separate authority to pay $6,960 in compliance with the
Appeals Board Order for Ty D'amico.
A motion was made to approve recommendation on the
Consent Calendar.
4. 21-0478 Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to submit Stipulations with
Request for Award for approval by the Workers’ Compensation
Appeals Board, and if so approved, authority to pay $72,500 in
compliance with the Appeals Board Order for Jesus Fragoso.

easement deed from the CSULB Foundation, the property owner at
1901 West Pacific Coast Highway, for cul-de-sac dedication purposes;
Authorize City Manager, or designee, to accept an easement deed
from the McDonald’s Corporation, the property owner at 1735 West
Pacific Coast Highway, to dedicate the easterly half of Cota Avenue for

Authorize City Manager, or designee, to execute a quitclaim deed to

10. 21-0486 Recommendation to authorize City Manager, or designee, to execute all
documents necessary to amend Contract No. 35551 with Harry H. Joh
Construction, Inc., of Paramount, CA, to increase the contract amount
by $233,061, for a revised total contract amount not to exceed
$2,796,727, for unforeseen construction on the North Health Facility
Tenant Improvements Project. (District 9)

11. 21-0417 Recommendation to adopt resolution allowing for the initiation of a
Consolidated Coastal Development Permit process pursuant to Section
30601.3 of the Public Resources Code (Coastal Act) in connection with
the realignment of Shoreline Drive as part of the Shoemaker Bridge
Replacement Project; and

ND 02-20 for the Long Beach Building Standards Code Amendments
Project relating to ordinances regulating construction adjacent to
abandoned oil or gas wells, and construction near areas exhibiting
detectable amounts of methane gas;
Declare ordinance amending Title 18 of the Long Beach Municipal
Code by adding Chapter 18.78 relating to construction in the vicinity of
oil/gas wells, read for the first time and laid over to the next regular

Beach Rowing Association (LBRA) at 5750 Boathouse Lane for the

Citywide Activities Department to provide a donation to Tichenor Clinic
for Children for the Sixth Annual Carnival and Resource Fair; and
Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide
Activities Department by $500 to offset a transfer to the City Manager
Department.

16. 21-0492 Recommendation to request City Manager update and revise the
policies and procedures related to the City’s Tree Maintenance Policy
and urban wildlife policy, including nesting birds. Direct City Manager
to reevaluate the standard operating procedure, including, but not
limited to inspections by a trained biologist, when trimming or removing

City trees that have evidence indicating an active bird nest. Also, direct
City Manager to report back on the feasibility and costs associated with

17. 21-0493 Recommendation to direct City Manager, the Fireworks Committee,
and all applicable departments to develop a Fireworks-Free
Neighborhood Incentive Program targeting the key holidays where
illegal fireworks are most in use (New Year’s Eve and the 4th of July)
with short term goals set for the upcoming 4th of July holiday; and
Waive the fees of all submitted and approved block party applications
for this upcoming July 4, 2021 holiday as a way to further incentivize
the commitment by the organizers and neighbors that it will be a
fireworks-free event.

Legislation Committee for consideration of inclusion in the City’s
Legislative Agendas.
