Smith Watts NEW BUSINESS Commissioner Hicks stated that he will purchase a camera for the department. Commissioner Hicks suggested that staff schedule a meeting with the Civil Service Commission and other chartered Commissions. Gary Anderson, Deputy City Attorney and Commission Advisor, informed the Commission that if the meeting was to discuss any type of business it would have to be agendized, however if it's just a meet and greet, it would not have to be placed on the agenda. OCEAN BLVD., 7TH FLOOR MINUTES CIVIL SERVICE BOARD ROOM, 8:00 AM MANAGERS' REPORT Ms. George informed the Commission that the Sergeant's examination is open and invited the Commission to observe the tactical component of the examination in March. Ms. George acknowledged Sigmund Jacoby, Administrative Analyst, Harbor Department, for the great work he did as one of the Harbor team members, working in the Civil Service Department. She stated that effective Monday, he returned to the Harbor Department. The Secretary introduced Lydia Trujillo, Clerk Typist - Non Career, as the new Public Counter team member. She also stated that Barbara Curtis has transferred to administration. She also informed the Commission that Harbor has extended Janice Lee and Diana Lam-Brandt time in the Civil Service Department to assist with Harbor Department examinations. The Secretary acknowledged Russ Ficker on his promotion to Administrative Officer in the Public Works Department. COMMENTS FROM PUBLIC – The Civil Service Commission will hear from members of the public on matters within the Commission’s jurisdiction. Cynthia Stafford, Manager - Personnel Operations, Human Resources, introduced Rochelle Hamilton as the new Benefits Officer in Human Resources. She stated that she comes from CSULB Chancellor's Office. Ms. Hamilton provided a brief history of herself, and stated that she is looking forward to working in Human Resources. Russ Ficker, Administrative Officer, Public Works, thanked Donna de Araujo, Personnel Analyst and staff for completing the Refuse Operator examination. Mr. Jacoby stated that it was a privilege having the opportunity to work in the Civil Service Department. He congratulated staff on being a great staff and management as being exceptional. He stated that it is a great place to work and thanked Civil Service for allowing him the opportunity to work in the department.
