Smith Watts MANAGERS' REPORT Ms. George informed the Commission that Caprice McDonald along with other staff members are conducting the Police Sergeant examination at the Emergency Operations Center. The Secretary provided the Commission with a budget update, stating that at last week's City Council meeting, Financial Management staff presented the budget overview for FY 16 and beyond. She stated that Financial Management has projected that the City is heading to some years with the City having to contend with deficits in FY 16 through FY 18 and maybe through FY 20. To address the budget deficit in FY 16 of one million, 9.3 million in FY 17, and 7.3 million in FY 18, the City Manager has enacted a citywide budget target reductions to address the shortfall. Civil Service has been requested to reduce its budget by roughly $5,600 - $7,000. She stated that she will be presenting a new organizational chart with the official budget presentation at the April 1, 2015 Commission meeting. COMMENTS FROM PUBLIC – The Civil Service Commission will hear from members of the public on matters within the Commission’s jurisdiction.
