Smith Watts, Rick McGilton-McGlamery and Robin Perry NEW BUSINESS Page 6 of 8 CITY OF LONG BEACH WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 5, 2015 CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION LONG BEACH FIRE DEPARTMENT MINUTES 3205 LAKEWOOD BLVD, 8:00 AM MANAGERS’ REPORT Recruitment & Selection Special Projects Administration Support Services Executive Director Mr. Pfingsthorn informed the Commission that departments will be making budget presentations to the City Council starting Tuesday, August 11, 2015, but that the Civil Service Department has not been asked to make one. He also stated that funds Civil Service had been asked to cut from its budget have been restored to the FY15-16 Civil Service Budget The Secretary informed the Commission that she will be attending the IPMA-HR 2015 Leadership Conference in Las Vegas, August 14-16, 2015. She thanked the Fire Chief for hosting the Commission and the collaboration between the Fire Department and Civil Service Department. COMMENTS FROM PUBLIC – The Civil Service Commission will hear from members of the public on matters within the Commission’s jurisdiction. Fire Chief Rick DuRee thanked the Commission for hosting its Commission meeting at Fire Headquarters and thanked the Civil Service staff for the excellent work they are doing and the working relationship with Fire. On behalf of the Commission, President Perry thanked Chief DuRee and his staff for hosting the Commission meeting and the wonderful hospitality shown to the Commission and staff.
