President Gonzalez Edmond called the meeting to order at 8:33 a.m. FLAG SALUTE President Gonzalez Edmond asked Gary Anderson, Principal Deputy City Attorney, to lead the Pledge of Allegiance. OCEAN BOULEVARD CIVIC CHAMBERS, MINUTES 8:30 AM 1. 20-088CS DISCUSSION AND RECOMMENDATION REGARDING CONDUCTING A WEEKLY CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING DURING THE COVID-19 EMERGENCY Ms. Pizarro Winting briefed the Commission regarding this request. President Gonzalez Edmond thanked Commissioner Arias for suggesting to meet weekly. Following their discussion, the Commission agreed to meet weekly so that they can be more efficient in responding to staffing requests from departments during the COVID-19 emergency. It was discussed that the Commission could decide later whether they would want to continue meeting weekly after the COVID-19 emergency. A motion was made by Commissioner Arias, seconded by Vice President Morrison, to conduct weekly Commission meetings during the COVID-19 emergency. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 5 - Phyllis O.
