Present: Highberger and Alan Burks Commissioners Shannon Carmack and Julianna Roosevelt Absent: FLAG SALUTE Commissioner Hernandez led the flag salute. MINUTES 16-033CH Recommendation to receive and file the Cultural Heritage Commission minutes of August 8, 2016. A motion was made by Commissioner van Dijs, seconded by Vice Chair Highberger, to approve recommendation. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION: Members of the public are invited to address the Cultural Heritage Commission on items of interest to the public within the Commission's jurisdiction. CONTINUED ITEM 1 16-027CH Recommendation to approve a Certificate of Appropriateness request for construction of a 1,044-square-foot one-story addition to an existing single-family residence and construction of a new 438-square-foot garage at 909 Temple Avenue in the Rose Park Historic District. (District 9) (Application No. HP16-236) Alejandro Plascencia, Planner, introduced Nick Vasuthasawat, Project Planner, who presented the staff report. Highberger and Alan Burks Absent: 2 - Shannon Carmack and Julianna Roosevelt REGULAR AGENDA 2 16-034CH Recommendation to approve a Certificate of Appropriateness request for construction of a 351-square-foot living area addition and a 217-square-foot open porch attached to the rear of the existing single-family residence at 3730 Gardenia Avenue. The building is a contributing structure within the California Heights Historic District.
