The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 6 - Mary Hinds, Tasha Hunter, Kevin McGuan, Lourdes Ramos, Kathleen Irvine and Julianna Roosevelt Absent: 1 - Mark Grisafe DIRECTOR'S REPORT Patricia Diefenderfer, Planning Bureau Manager, gave the Director's Report. SWEARING OF WITNESSES REGULAR AGENDA 1. 21-023CH Recommendation to approve a Certificate of Appropriateness for the demolition of a non-period wing wall at the driveway and existing 327-square-foot two-car garage, and construction of a one-story detached, 859-square-foot structure consisting of a 562-square-foot two-car garage and 297-square-foot pool house at the rear half of the property. The property is located at 3544 Gundry Avenue. No changes are proposed to the existing primary structure, located in the front of the lot, which is a contributing structure in the California Heights Historic District. A motion was made by Commissioner Ramos, seconded by Commissioner Hinds, to nominate Commissioner Hunter as the 2020 appointee to the Board of Long Beach Navy Memorial Heritage Association. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 4 - Mary Hinds, Kevin McGuan, Lourdes Ramos and Kathleen Irvine Abstain: 1 - Tasha Hunter Absent: 2 - Mark Grisafe and Julianna Roosevelt A recommendation was made to nominate Marky Morel by Commissioner McGuan, but postponed until the August 31, 2021 meeting.
