Development and Finance Committee meeting held Friday,
February 27, 2015.
A motion was made by Vice Chair Price, seconded by Chair
Mungo, to approve recommendation. The motion carried by the
following vote:

2. 15-0356 Recommendation to receive and file a report on OpenCounter, a
web-based tool to help cities support local economic development,
and concur with recommendation and/or provide direction to staff.
Michael Conway, Director of Economic and Property Development, spoke;
and introduced Chris Wildling, Interim Director of Technology and
Innovation, who presented the staff report and provided a PowerPoint
presentation.
Councilmember Uranga joined the meeting.

Larry Goodhue spoke.
A motion was made by Chair Mungo, seconded by Vice Chair
Price, approve recommendation, as amended, to recommend to
the City Council that the issue of marketing the OpenCounter
software be presented to the Economic Development Commission
for consideration and recommendation. The motion carried by the
following vote:
Yes: 3 - Mungo, Price and Uranga
3. 15-0357 Recommendation to receive and file a report on quarterly business
and economic indicators for Long Beach during the first quarter of
2015, and concur with recommendation and/or provide direction to
staff.

Price, that the item be laid over to the next Economic
Development and Finance Committee meeting. The motion
carried by the following vote:

4. 15-0358 Recommendation to receive and file discussion pertaining to an
update on a sales tax participation agreement with and a freeway
oriented electronic sign upgrade proposal from Worthington Ford.
A motion was made by Chair Mungo, seconded by Vice Chair
Price, that the item be laid over to the next Economic
Development and Finance Committee meeting. The motion
carried by the following vote:
Yes: 3 - Mungo, Price and Uranga
5. 15-0157 Recommendation to receive a fiscal impact analysis report on the
establishment of a citywide Veterans Affairs Commission, pursuant
to Long Beach Municipal Code Section 2.03.075 and as approved
by the City Council on Tuesday, November 11, 2014, for review and
forward Committee comments and/or recommendation back to the
City Council for consideration.
